Later, we will try to visit Mogadishu Stadium to witness a Somali League football match if there is any competition on this day. Things to know

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE?

Wander Expedition doesn't book flights for you and is ultimately not responsible for your flight connection, but we can offer guidance and support when you research the best options for you. We will meet in Addis Ababa to fly to Mogadishu and fly out of Djibouti. Both capitals connect easily with Ethiopian Airlines. We will also let you book the connecting flight between them, since you may want to use miles or points.

HOW DO I GET A VISA FOR SOMALIA & DJIBOUTI?

Somalia: You must have a visa to enter Somalia. You can get a single-entry visa, valid for one month, for 60 US dollars when you arrive at Mogadishu International Airport. (Please check that your passport is allowed for Visa on Arrival). Djibouti: they have an evisa for most nationalities, which we can help you navigate. We can also offer support if your passport doesn't allow evisa and need an Embassy visa.

ARE MOGADISHU AND DJIBOUTI SAFE?

We will be always accompanied by an expert local crew, which will help us interact with locals and have the best possible experience.

WHO IS THIS EXPEDITION FOR?

Mogadishu and Djibouti are underrated gems in the Horn of Africa, and still remain very untouched by tourism. They are perfect if you are looking for an adventure and creating stories with a powerful human connection and photogenic landscapes.

Papua New Guinea I

The best way to see not only the Mt Hagen festival but also the highlights of the PNG highlands. Safe, exciting, and lots of fun.

Indian Himalayas & Bhutan

A spiritual and cultural-focussed expedition, not the typical style of other Wander trips, but I absolutely loved it. Bhutan is beautiful and this expedition was the best way to see it, the tricky visa and tour guide requirements were all handled and the itinerary gave the very best of the country in a few days. Northern India was equally serene and even as someone who hates hiking, having a great group to champion you along the way made it fun.

West Africa III

The best overland adventure you could ever ask for. Two weeks, 22 people, 6 cars, endless laughs. Sure, the days are long, and you definitely need to bring snacks, but it’s so much fun and the best way to see the parts of Africa that most people don’t go to! And it has everything - beach, nature, pool days, local communities, cities and middle-of-nowhere adventures. I’d even go as far as to say I’d do it again….. never say never!
