Things to know

HOW DO I GET A VISA FOR THESE COUNTRIES?

Many of these countries are Visa free for many nationalites, but please check if you require any visa for your passport. It is also important that you have a Visa or ESTA for entering US territory in case you want to visit America Samoa or do any connection through a US territory.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE?

Wander Expedition does not handle flight bookings on your behalf and is not ultimately responsible for your flight connection. However, we can provide guidance and support as you research the best options for your journey. Our Add-On will start taking a flight from Fiji to Palau and it will finish in Samoa (where you can Fly out to Auckland (New Zealand), Nadi (FijI), Brisbane (Australia), America Samoa)

WHO IS THIS EXPEDITION FOR?

This Expedition is designed for everyone seeking a fun time, an exploration of off-the-beaten-path destinations, the opportunity to make new travel friends, and create unforgettable travel stories. We crafted this itinerary to visit the most remote countries of the Pacific and making it the perfect unique off-the-grid adventure. If you are planning to visit every country, this is the best way to slice the Pacific, a region that has hard logistics and that is hard to do solo!

ARE THE FLIGHTS BETWEEN ISLANDS INCLUDED?

Wander Expeditions is facilitating the logistics, hotels, and activities in the itinerary. In this expedition, you will be responsible for purchasing the connecting flights between the different countries and islands. We have crafted a detailed itinerary and will provide you with the exact flights that you need to buy. However, the majority of the flights are operated by Fiji Airways (OneWorld Alliance) which has a miles program (Avios) with a great mile value.

WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE OF THE FLIGHTS IS CANCELLED? THERE IS A BACK UP PLAN?

Connecting the islands in the Pacific can be challenging, but we have been working on the best logistics. We will advise you on the exact flights that you need to buy for the expedition. However, weather conditions can affect the flights, which is why we will ask you to leave a buffer of a few days before leaving Samoa, the last destination, just to make sure any unforeseen circumstances can be accommodated. We have also included a couple of buffer days during the expedition to try to accomodate any disruption. Our plan is to visit all the listed countries and islands on this itinerary. However, while Wander Expeditions prioritizes visiting every listed Pacific country on the itinerary, please note that flexibility is necessary due to factors like Force Majeure, weather, or flight cancellations. You must be prepared to accept this flexibility and acknowledge that we cannot be held responsible for delays and alterations in the schedule, or for additional expenses incurred as a result of any such circumstances.

Papua New Guinea I

The best way to see not only the Mt Hagen festival but also the highlights of the PNG highlands. Safe, exciting, and lots of fun.

Indian Himalayas & Bhutan

A spiritual and cultural-focussed expedition, not the typical style of other Wander trips, but I absolutely loved it. Bhutan is beautiful and this expedition was the best way to see it, the tricky visa and tour guide requirements were all handled and the itinerary gave the very best of the country in a few days. Northern India was equally serene and even as someone who hates hiking, having a great group to champion you along the way made it fun.

West Africa III

The best overland adventure you could ever ask for. Two weeks, 22 people, 6 cars, endless laughs. Sure, the days are long, and you definitely need to bring snacks, but it’s so much fun and the best way to see the parts of Africa that most people don’t go to! And it has everything - beach, nature, pool days, local communities, cities and middle-of-nowhere adventures. I’d even go as far as to say I’d do it again….. never say never!
